House of Tides is the brainchild of Kenny and Abbie, who opened the restaurant on the famous Newcastle Quayside in February of 2014. Set within a 16th-century ex-merchant’s townhouse, a short distance from the iconic Tyne Bridge, House of Tides is spread over two levels, with a bar on the flagstoned ground floor and the main restaurant upstairs on the first. Seasonality is the order of the day here, with menus prizing local produce and the finest ingredients from throughout the North East, cooked to perfection and presented with panache. Wine pairing is available with lunch and dinner, and popular main courses include Goosnargh duck and Orkney scallops. The highly-rated venue received a Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes in 2015, and was also named AA UK Restaurant of the Year 2015-2016 and North East Restaurant of the Year 2014-2015.
